Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 October 2026

Katos is built so that we never need your personal data. We have no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. This policy explains what the app keeps on your device and which services it connects to.

Summary

What stays on your device

To play your subscription, Katos stores on your device: your provider's server address, your username and password; your favourites, Watch Later list, watch history and playback positions; and your settings, such as language, preferred audio and subtitle languages, guide sources and avatar.

On Android, your account details are encrypted with the system keystore. Katos turns off cloud backup of its data, so none of it is copied to your Google, Amazon or Apple account by the app.

Signing out removes your account details. Clearing watch history in Settings removes your history. Uninstalling the app removes everything.

Services the app connects to

Every internet connection reveals your IP address and basic device information to the server you connect to. Katos sends no other personal data to any of these services.

Signing in with your phone

On TVs that support it, you can type your account details on your phone instead of the remote. The TV shows a temporary address on your home network; your phone sends the details straight to the TV over your local network. Nothing passes through our servers, and the page closes once you have signed in.

This website

katos.app is a static website. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from third parties; fonts are served from our own server. Like any web server, ours keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, page requested and browser) for up to 14 days to keep the site secure, and then deletes them.

Children

Katos is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone.

Your rights

Under data protection laws such as the GDPR and Türkiye's KVKK you have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data. Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to export or delete; the data on your device is under your control, as described above. If you have a question or a complaint, write to us, and you may also contact your local data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will publish the new version here with a new date. If a change affects what the app stores or where it connects, we will say so in the app's release notes.
